Stay Centered In Body, Mind, And Spirit

The ancient art of shamanic bodywork involves using a variety of different manipulative therapy techniques, such as cupping, breath work, and energy medicine to address physical, emotional, and energetic imbalances. The art of bodywork relies on finding the perfect balance between therapeutic conversation and nonverbal communication to intuitively heal the parts of your body that need it the most and provoke a state of total-body relaxation. In my bodywork sessions, some of my aims are to help my clients heal from past traumas and emotional holding patterns through the spiritual power of physical touch.

Bodywork

Below are only a few examples of the many types of bodywork that have been used to cure physical and mental conditions since antiquity.

  • Acupressure – Involves physical pressure applied to acupuncture points with the aim of clearing blockages in meridians
  • Craniosacral Therapy – Uses gentle touch to manipulate the joints in the cranium and skull, removing blockages
  • Cupping – An ancient Chinese healing technique that uses small cups as suction devices to disperse and break up stagnant energy
  • Myofascial Release – Focuses on relieving physical pain by gently massaging the muscles and identifying areas of stiffness or tightness
  • Reflexology – Involves applying pressure to different points on the feet, helping to relieve stress and promote health to the entire organ system and body
  • Reiki – A form of energy healing in which positive energy flows from the practitioner’s hands into the client’s body
  • Vibrational Healing – Aims to release physical and emotional tension by compressing and decompressing the body and utilizing sound

Please note that Shamananda does not do Tantra.

A Holistic Approach To The Body

Bodywork is a way of addressing the body and mind as a single, integrated unit. It resists the Western traditions of mind-body dualism by instead advocating a theory of holism, which states that all properties of a system cannot be determined by looking at its individual components. This holistic view of the body and mind dates back to many ancient belief systems, including Vajrayana, Mahayana, Theravada, and Zen Buddhism.Through bodywork, holistic healers such as myself can address blockages in the body, mind, emotion, and spirit in one dynamically interrelated practice.
